Easy Recipes on Food Network on DIRECT TV

I love watching chef Nigella Lawson on the Food Network on DIRECTV. She currently has two shows on TV – Nigella Express and Nigella Feasts. Though I enjoy both of her shows, Nigella Express is my favorite for the simple reason that the recipes are fast and easy. She encourages you to use “whatever you have on hand”, and does not use fussy techniques that require a culinary degree to pull off.You can tell Nigella’s love for food and cooking is genuine.

You truly believe she eats what she cooks – sorry Giada but I don’t think you take more than a nibble of your own food! Nigella is being sincere when she says the pantry is her favorite room in the house. When Nigella is shown raiding her fridge for leftovers to eat in bed – it is legit.Recently I made this chocolate and pear pudding for my family and everyone ate it – no small feat considering all the different tastes in my household! Try this easy and delicious recipe and watch Nigella on the Food Network.

Chocolate Pear PuddingRecipe Courtesy of Nigella LawsonCook Time Level Yield30 Minutes Easy 8 ServingsIngredients1 ¼ sticks unsalted butter, softened, plus more, for greasing2 (14-ounce) cans pear halves, in juice¾ cup plus 1 tablespoon all purpose flour¼ cup cocoa powder1 ¼ cups sugar1 teaspoon baking powder¼ teaspoon baking soda2 eggs2 teaspoons vanilla extractDirectionsPreheat the oven to 400 degrees F and grease an 8-½ inch square ovenproof dish with butter.

Drain the pears and arrange them on the base of the prepared dish. Put all the remaining ingredients in a processor and blitz until you have a batter with a soft dropping consistency. Spread the brown batter over the pears, and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes and then cut into slabs – I cut 2 down and 2 across to make nine slices – serve with chocolate sauce.
